In Rakhine State, Ngapali Beach stretches for over 3km along the northern coast. During the dry season from October through May, Ngapali is a popular beach resort for locals and visitors alike offering clean sand, clear water and peace and quiet for all. It is easily accessible by daily flights from Yangon. You can also fish, swim, horseback ride or play golf. Nearby are several fishing villages which can be visited by bicycle or by car. There is an elephant camp near the town of Thandwe which is an interesting excursion for those who tire of the sun and sand. There you will find serenity and peace of mind amidst beautiful scenery. Fishing boats can be hired for trips to some of the islands off the coast or just for fishing at nearby reefs. There is an 18-hole golf course, located 15 minutes from the beach.
