Hue – DMZ

Set out in the morning for driving to visit some war significant sites around the former Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Our first stop is the Quang Tri Citadel, which changed hands several times in the waning years of the conflict. Then head towards the Lao border and visit the former US marines base at Khe Sanh and the Da Krong Bridge, which was on the former Ho Chi Minh Trails. Proceed to the Hien Luong Bridge, which for many years served as a symbol of the divided nation. We also stop by the fascinating Vinh Moc Tunnels, which villagers constructed to escape from frequent bombings around the former DMZ during the war. Drive back to Hue.
