Hanoi - Ky Son - Ninh Binh - Ha Long Bay – Hanoi

Day 1 Hanoi – Ky Son (Walking – Cycling)

Drive to Ky Son Village in the morning. Take a pleasant walk around the village to get a taste of the northern countryside lifestyle of Vietnam before joining your host for lunch preparation. Have lunch and learn more about the Vietnamese culture through conversations with locals. In the afternoon, set out on a bike ride along local trails with stops for taking pictures, chatting with children and farmers and shopping at the village market while soaking up the pastoral atmosphere and tranquility. Return for a relaxing traditional herbal bath before dinnertime. Before bed, soak your feet in a traditional herbal treatment.

Day 2 Ky Son – But Cave Complex– Ninh Binh

The serene morning will inspire you and the host to practice Yi Jin Jing, a series of exercises coordinated with specific breathing techniques and mental concentration. Drive to Ninh Binh. Upon arrival, you will have lunch at the “But” restaurant. After lunch take a sampan ride through the But Cave Complex. Explore the dry cave as wells as the water caves. End the trip at Thung Nham dock. Drive to your hotel in Ninh Binh Town.

Day 3 Ninh Binh – Ha Long Bay

Drive through rice paddy fields to Ha Long Bay. Board a junk for a cruise among the hundreds of islets of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch and a swim (weather permitting). Drop anchor in the late evening for an overnight stay among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea.

Day 4 Ha Long Bay – Boat Cruise – Hanoi

Take a delightful morning cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay before returning to the dock. Drive back to Hanoi.

While in the Red River delta, take in a traditional water puppet performance at a village. After leaving Ha Long Bay, take a scenic drive to a small village known as the birthplace of water puppetry in the Red River Delta. Take delight in watching an authentic outdoor water puppet performance while sampling local delicacies. Local artisans will then present you with a wooden water puppet as a souvenir. Drive back to Hanoi.
