Hanoi - Lao Cai - Ethnic Market - Sapa – Hanoi

Day 1 Hanoi – Lao Cai by Train
In the evening, board the overnight sleeper train to Lao Cai which is situated on the Vietnam-China border.

Day 2 Lao Cai – Ethnic Market – Sapa
Take an early morning drive to one of the most exotic tribal markets in northern Vietnam which attracts a large number of minority groups. Proceed to the Topas Ecolodge via Sapa for an overnight stay.

Day 3 Sapa – Lech Village (Walking)
Set off in the morning by descending towards the river through rice paddy terraces. This offers you a captivating view of the surrounding valleys. Then follow a trail cutting across the hillside. Enjoy your lunch near the Ban Moi Village which is inhabited by the Red Dao.
After lunch, visit the Ban Moi Village where you can experience the villagers’ daily life. You may also visit a school which educates Red Dao and Hmong ethnic minority children of different ages. Pay a visit to the Lech Village (populated by the Red Dao minority group) and then return to the lodge.

Overnight in the Topas Ecolodge [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

Day 4 Sapa – Ma Tra (Cycling) – Hanoi
Drive to Sapa in the morning where you will start your bicycle ride downhill to the Ma Tra Village. It is an amazing adventure to go downhill, and at times walk across small streams with the bike on your shoulder. At Black Hmong villages, you may interact with villagers as they go about their daily life. You may also visit the local school on the way.
Return to Sapa in the afternoon and the rest of the day is free at your leisure. Proceed to the Lao Cai Train Station for the return journey to Hanoi.

Day 5 Arrive Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel.
