Day 1 Hanoi – But Thap – Dong Ho – Ha Long
In the morning, you will be driven to Bac Ninh. En route visit the But Thap Pagoda before proceeding to the Dong Ho Village where artisans have been practicing the craft of woodblock painting since the 17th century. You will explore the art of Dong Ho paintings which rely on local materials such as traditional shell-coated “Gio” paper and natural pigments. These folklore paintings depict the wishes of laypeople, historical figures, allegories and daily life. Have a picnic lunch or a local meal. In the afternoon, proceed to Ha Long for the night.

Day 2 Ha Long Bay – Boat Cruise – Hanoi
Take a delightful morning cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch onboard before returning to the dock. Drive back to Hanoi with a stop en route at a ceramic factory.

While in the Red River delta, take in a traditional water puppet performance at a village. After leaving Ha Long Bay, take a scenic drive to a small village known as the birthplace of water puppetry in the Red River Delta. Take delight in watching an authentic outdoor water puppet performance while sampling local delicacies. Local artisans will then present you with a wooden water puppet as a souvenir. Drive back to Hanoi.
