VM13 Yangon and The Golden Rock ( 2 days / 1 night )

Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo - Bago - Yang

Day 1 Yangon – Kyaikhtiyo
Early in the morning, enjoy a scenic journey by road to Kyaikhtiyo, 190 km to the east. It is one of Myanmar’s most sacred sights: a huge boulder covered with gold leaf and balanced precariously on the edge of a cliff. The pagoda at the Golden Rock is said to house a single hair of the Buddha. In the late morning, arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp and transfer to a pick up truck for the one-hour ride to the transit junction. Continue for one hour of light hiking up to the summit. 
Overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.

Day 2 Kyaikhtiyo – Bago – Yangon
After breakfast, return to the base camp by truck and return to Yangon stopping at Bago to visit the Shwemawdaw Pagoda and the Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha. En route visit the Allied Cemetery near Htaukkyant (the final resting place for over 27,000 allied soldiers) and a local woven bamboo workshop. Transfer back to Yangon. [Breakfast]
