Phnom Penh - Takeo - Kep - Sihanoukville – Phnom Penh / Siem Reap

Day 1   Phnom Penh – Tonle Bati – Chiso Mountain – Kep

Take a morning drive along National Highway 3 to Takeo Province. On the way, stop at Tonle Bati, Ta Prohm and Yeay Peou Temples and Prasat Neang Khmau before reaching Chiso Mountain to visit the 11th century Khmer Brahmanic mountaintop temple.  Boxed lunches will be provided on site before proceeding to Kampong Trach to visit limestone caves and passages that shelter Wat Kirisan. You will be stunned by various stalactites and stalagmites in the shapes of dragon heads, monkeys, whales and mushrooms. Continue your trip to Kep Province, a coastal city located in the southwest that has much to offer, such as, mountains, evergreen tropical forests, unspoiled islands, coral reefs, sandy beaches and fresh seafood. Founded during the French colonial period, the city was afterwards renovated into a beautiful seaside resort in the 1960s during Prince Norodom Sihanouk’s Sangkum Reastr Niyum Regime. The name Kep is derived from the French words le cap, or cape in English.

Day 2   Kep – Sightseeing

Take an excursion to visit Kampot, a small provincial town with colonial houses that is widely considered to be the durian plantation of Cambodia. This region is known not only for producing the best durian of all of Southeast Asia but also for its abundance of other tropical fruits including mangosteen, rambutan, mak prang, pineapple, grapefruit, custard apple and coconut. Additionally, Kampot’s Chamkar Mrich (“pepper plantations”) are renowned for producing one of the world’s finest peppers. Visit Tek Chhou Waterfall and discover the surrounding countryside during stops at different villages where you may chat with villagers and witness their daily life. Then enjoy free time to relax on the beautiful beach of Kep until sunset.

Day 3   Kep – Rabbit island

Take a local boat trip to the 2 square km white sand beaches and coconut trees of Rabbit Island (or Koh Tonsay), which is about 20-30 minutes by boat from Kep. We will spend the day on the island to enjoy swimming in relatively clear warm water, or snorkelling around the rocks to discover lots of colourful fish, walk around the island (approximately. 1.5 hrs), sun bathe on white sand beaches or lie under coconut trees and drink fresh coconut juice. In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel.

Day 4   Kep – Ream National Park – Sihanoukville

After breakfast, take a car to Sihanoukville, one of the coastal provinces of the bay of Cambodia – a bay that was listed as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.  Stop en-route to visit the Ream National Park for a full day boat trip to explore this beautiful protected maritime reserve. This 21,000 hectare park encompasses a vast coastal area including sandy beaches, mangrove forests, the Prek Tuk Sap estuary, off-shore coral reefs and two islands. This is also home to a variety of marine life as well as the rhesus monkeys. Relax on a pristine white sandy beach and enjoy a picnic lunch before you move on to Sihanoukville.

Day 5   Sihanoukville

Today is free at leisure to relax on the beautiful beach. Sihanoukville is one of the coastal provinces of the bay of Cambodia – a bay that was listed as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

Day 6   Sihanoukville – Siem Reap / Phnom Penh (Flight from Sihanoukville – PNH/ REP is operated 3 flights a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

This morning, you are free at leisure and relax on the beautiful beach.  In the afternoon, transfer to the airport (without a tour guide) for departure flight to Siem Reap or Phnom Penh or drive back to Phnom Penh. [Breakfast]
